Where are most solar panels manufactured?

The vast majority of solar panel brands sold in Australia are manufactured in China.

Note that country of origin is not an indiction of quality - there are excellent brands of solar panels made in China.

Panels not manufactured in China include:

Winaico - manufactured in Taiwan

LG - Manufactured in South Korea

REC - Made in Singapore

Tindo - Manufactured in Adelaide

If you come across Canadian Solar panels, they make 90% of their panels in China, and as far as I can tell all the ones imported into Australia are from China. 

What about Germany?

The only German made panels that are available in Australia that I know of are SolarWatt.

Beware of panels with intentionally German names that are manufactured in China. Some less reputable salespeople will tell you they are made in Germany when they think no one from the ACCC is within earshot.
