If you want your EV to power your home, or even help support the grid you need:
a) a car that can do this, for example the Nissan Leaf Gen 2
b) a bi-directional car charger.
c) If you are on-grid, you'll need permission from your local electricity network (called a DNSP) to connect the charger to the grid.
Our EV charger comparison table is the best place to check for updates, but at the time of writing, there are no bi-directional chargers available for installation in Australia.
